Collaboration REELC-ENCLS with ALICE Project
As reported at the September 2007 General Meeting (http://www.eurolit.net/index.php?q=node/571), REELC/ENCLS was invited to collaborate with the ALICE research project (Another Landscape: Imagining Contemporary Europe) coordinated at the University of Bologna, for which a bid has been made for funding by the European Union.
After some discussion, it was agreed that REELC/ENCLS’s role, if the funding application is successful, will be to help dissemination and further discussion of the research results. Three events are envisaged to this end:
- a seminar/conference in Sofia, Bulgaria, in the second half of 2010, coordinated by Prof. Roumiana Stantcheva, with the University of Sofia "St. Kliment Ohridski" - Faculty of Slavic Philologies, Department of Balkan studies, and the Bulgarian Academic Circle of Comparative Literature, focusing on migration;
- a seminar / conference in Skopje, Macedonia, in late 2010 / 2011, coordinated by Dr. Sonja Stojmenska-Elzeser, with the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University of Skopje - Institute of Macedonian Literature, and the Comparative Literature Association of Macedonia, focusing on European and non-European spaces;
- and a seminar /conference in Maribor, Slovenia, in the second half of 2011, coordinated by Dr. Darja Pavlic, with the University of Maribor – Faculty of Arts, Department of Slavic Language and Literatures, and the Slovenian Comparative Literature Association, focusing on literary representations.
With thanks to all those that have helped put this programme together (Dr. Tiziana Morosetti in Bologna; Prof. Roumiana Stantcheva in Sofia, Dr. Sonja Stojmenska-Elzeser in Skopje, and Dr. Darja Pavlic in Maribor) and fingers crossed for the success of the application.
